Baikal-GVD: how Russia built a kilometer-scale neutrino telescope in Siberia's deepest lake
A kilometer beneath the surface of Lake Baikal, an array of glass-sphere photodetectors is steadily being deployed across about a cubic kilometer of cold, ultra-clear freshwater. It is now one of the world's three major operating high-energy neutrino telescopes.
